Columbia & Willamette Spring Chinooks

Early March is the kickoff for Columbia and Willamette River Spring Salmon.
These chrome bright fish are favored by many because of their rich taste.
Typically Spring Chinooks run 15-25 pounds and some exceeding the 30 pound
mark.  Only hatchery Spring Chinooks may be kept all others will be released
after a quick photo.  When fishing the Columbia River for Spring Chinooks we
will be trolling herring and spinners in the airport area.  If we are fishing in the
Bonneville area we will be back bouncing eggs or back trolling divers and plugs.
If we are fishing the Willamette River you will be either back bouncing or trolling
herring, prawns, and spinners in the Sellwood Area.  In the Oregon City area you
will be back bouncing or back trolling eggs, shrimp, prawns, and plugs.

More Photos Posted Soon from this and past amazing memories on the
Columbia and Willamette River!

Clackamas River Spring Chinook

These Salmon enter the river in late April and run well through June.
The weather is usually warm during these months, so all your fair weather
fishermen can get out there and catch some fish.  We will be fishing from
my jet sled making the scenice boat ride almost as exciting as the fishing.
When fishing the Clackamas you will be back bouncing or back trolling eggs,
shrimp, and a variety of plugs.
